We needed a garden and patio revamp and decided to contact Maughan Construction as they are a local company. Ted promptly came along to discuss our requirements and he also made some suggestions. We thanked him for the advice and quote given and asked him to leave it with us to discuss whether to accept or not.We decided to go ahead, with apprehension, as we are not very trusting of trades people and always do our own jobs as much as possible, but landscaping is not a job that we feel we can take on. Ted sensed our apprehension and reassured us many times that he would do a good job and that we could trust him.Before the job could begin, there was a lot of left over rubble from a previous attempt at our garden. Ted and team promptly removed this and cleared the garden before commencing work. As the garden slopes, we needed several steps down to the shed area. The steps needed to be wide and shallow. Ted made sure that they were done to our requirement and kept checking with us that all was ok.We already had an unfinished area boxed in by sleepers. These were made to look good, level and as straight as possible. They added coloured gravel and made a beautiful feature of this section of garden which, honestly , we had no idea what to do with. They paved our patio, sides and front of house, replaced all man holes and made good any areas which needed attention at no extra cost.The next section of garden was a grassed area. Ted advised that he would prepare and top soil the area ready for the new turf which we could simply do ourselves. However, he would not leave an unfinished area and did the grass turf on our behalf again at no extra cost. He constantly checked with us to make sure that he was doing what we requested and met all our requirements.Ted and his team are quick (2 days), efficient, very clean, tidy and considerate. Ted was the first to arrive very early each morning and the last to leave at the end of the day. He made sure that everywhere was clean and tidy and to his satisfaction before leaving. Ted's aim was to make us happy and we can honestly say that he succeeded with the beautiful job that he did along with his team. Ted came as a trades person but left as a friend. Thank you very much for your hard work. We are now the proud owners of a lovely garden and paved area. thanks to you and your team. We highly recommend Maughan Construction.

Had Ted and his team do our drive and what a great job they have done. He went above and beyond to make sure he got everything right and in the time frame that he told me it would be done by (2 Days).I would recommend him and his team to anyone that was thinking about using him.I have asked him to do the back garden later on in the year(when I saved up to pay for it.) 10 out of 10

After seeing a paving job that Terry had done I asked the owner of the house who had done the drive.The owner was good enough to give me Terry's contact number.I then contacted Terry to ask for an estimate for paving for about 120sq mtrs. He arranged to meet me on Sat morning, he arrived at the appointment at the time arranged so that was the first good point.We sorted out what I required and agreed he should start on the following Tuesday ( yesterday).He arrived as planned with his gang of very efficient and plesent workers and in two days completed the work to a very high standard of which we are very satisfied with.I now have the drive I wanted, in record time with the area cleaned up with not a bit of mess left.Would highly recommend Terry and have awarded him 5 stars which I do with confidence.

I was impressed by how efficiently Ted and his team worked on my project. They were ready to start at 7:30 am and completed everything by the end of the day, just as promised.What struck me most was that they maintained a clean work area, tidying up as they went along. The road and pavement were always free of debris, and they even laid a dust sheet on the road under the back of their lorry when unloading materials.From the photos, you can see the attention to detail in the lines, levels, and cuts. I briefly spoke with the workers, and they were very polite.Of all the driveway contractors in Stoke, I made the right decision by contracting these guys. I would highly recommend them and will work with them again for future projects.

I always get stressed about having work done but I decided to contact Ted after seeing the quality of work he and his team had carried out on a neighbour’s drive and hearing how happy they had been with the way everyone had worked.The fencing I needed doing was a difficult job and it was important that it was finished quickly to ensure the garden and driveway were safe for mine and my neighbour’s dogsTed visited three times before starting the work to ensure that I was happy with what was being done, always phoning before hand so I wasn’t left waiting.On the first day, Ted and his team turned up on time and worked over 11 hours straight through. Everyone was friendly and professional and couldn’t do enough to help, making sure that everywhere was clean and tidy and that I was happy with everything.It’s the little things that make the difference like ensuring my neighbours were happy, that their drive was cleaned and that their side of the fence was neat and tidy and finished with gravel as well.The work was completed in two days and Ted even stayed after the work was completed to ensure the skip was removed and the driveway cleaned.I have never known a team with such a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Another fantastic job by Ted and his team. Always punctual, polite and courteous. They provided an exceptional service from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble.
