Ted from Maughan construction based in Stoke on Trent installed my new driveway using Tobermore Shannon slate with a double charcoal border.Ted visited my property to give a detailed explanation of what and how best to proceed with the installation.I was given a quote and booked him in for the following week. Ted and his team worked hard and were diligent and methodical in their work, Ted stayed behind after for the two day installation to ensure the work met his high standards.The second day the sand and blocks were installed and the rest of the team did an amazing job installing the block kerb edgings and made an impressive curved bed which was later dressed with top soil.The drain cover-details were perfect and all the finishing touches and minute detail made the finished job look amazingThe team worked in a very clean and tidy manner and any mess was cleared and washed down including pavements and roads.The team respected my wishes and anything I asked to be altered was dealt with instantly.I would 100% recommend the company and their work.

Very very very pleased with our new driveway. Couldn’t rate Ted and his team highly enough, thanks guys!Day 1 – Ted turned up with 4 very pleasant guys at 7.30am as promised and by 6pm, dug out and spoil removed, hardcore down and compacted.Day 2 – Again turned up at 7.30am and by 11.30am, sand down and compacted level and Tegula paving all laid. Weather wasn’t on his side, so had to come back at 4.30pm to sand it all in once it had dried out.I would highly recommend Maughan Construction to anybody who wants quality work done fast!
Absolutely incredible standard of work from Ted and the team, that has transformed our home. From the initial consultation, we were treated respectfully and professionally and given a realistic timescale and cost for the work.The team worked diligently during the whole project, and even when there were complications due to existing issues with the previous driveway, Ted was completely transparent with the solutions, which were included into the project at an incredibly reasonable rate. The whole project was completed in a very time efficient manner, and we were consulted throughout and given regular progress updates.There is no other firm that I would consider using for a project of this magnitude in future, and I am more than happy with the service that I have received and the standard of the work delivered.I would happily recommend Maughan Construction to anyone. 5 stars does not justify how delighted we are with the new drive which has been installed in only 2 days by Ted and his team. All of the gentlemen who worked on our property (and boy, did they work hard!) had the upmost respect and courtesy for both us and the work they were doing.The drive has been thoroughly protected against the possibility of weeds making their way through, with layers of material, which have been well prepared before the final sets were installed....these are the icing on the cake!Nothing was too much trouble for Ted and his team; he explained the process at each stage and ensured we were happy and answered any questions we had.Once the driveway had been completed, Ted ensured we were happy before he would confirm that everything had been completed. Ted and his team were not only hard working but very tidy as well. We needed a garden and patio revamp and decided to contact Maughan Construction as they are a local company. Ted promptly came along to discuss our requirements and he also made some suggestions. We thanked him for the advice and quote given and asked him to leave it with us to discuss whether to accept or not.We decided to go ahead, with apprehension, as we are not very trusting of trades people and always do our own jobs as much as possible, but landscaping is not a job that we feel we can take on. Ted sensed our apprehension and reassured us many times that he would do a good job and that we could trust him.Before the job could begin, there was a lot of left over rubble from a previous attempt at our garden. Ted and team promptly removed this and cleared the garden before commencing work. As the garden slopes, we needed several steps down to the shed area. The steps needed to be wide and shallow. Ted made sure that they were done to our requirement and kept checking with us that all was ok.We already had an unfinished area boxed in by sleepers. These were made to look good, level and as straight as possible. They added coloured gravel and made a beautiful feature of this section of garden which, honestly , we had no idea what to do with. They paved our patio, sides and front of house, replaced all man holes and made good any areas which needed attention at no extra cost.The next section of garden was a grassed area. Ted advised that he would prepare and top soil the area ready for the new turf which we could simply do ourselves. However, he would not leave an unfinished area and did the grass turf on our behalf again at no extra cost. He constantly checked with us to make sure that he was doing what we requested and met all our requirements.Ted and his team are quick (2 days), efficient, very clean, tidy and considerate. Ted was the first to arrive very early each morning and the last to leave at the end of the day. He made sure that everywhere was clean and tidy and to his satisfaction before leaving. Ted's aim was to make us happy and we can honestly say that he succeeded with the beautiful job that he did along with his team. Ted came as a trades person but left as a friend. Thank you very much for your hard work. We are now the proud owners of a lovely garden and paved area. thanks to you and your team. We highly recommend Maughan Construction.

How Long Does A TEG Paving Driveway Take To Lay?
